With thanks to...

As always with any project, we are immensely grateful for the help and support of so many people. We hope we haven’t missed anyone out (please do get in touch if you think we have!)

Many thanks to:

Tim Harrison, Programme Manager for Creative Health at Creative Medway for his support throughout this project, for offering us the opportunity to work in this wonderful community, and his enthusiasm and help with our project.

Sarah Jenkins, Community Librarian at Medway Libraries, for her support and insight throughout this project, and her wisdom, guidance and local knowledge particularly with the route of the story walk.

Sharon Manship, Research Associate at the Centre for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent and Dr Eleanor Jupp, Director of Graduate Studies In the School of Social Sciences at the University of Kent, for inviting us to speak at the symposium ‘Making the Case for Creative Health in Medway’.

The staff and visitors of Luton Library for their warm welcome and wonderful ideas, especially Teri, Mandy, Rachel, Mark, and Jess.

Special thanks to Natasha Steer, brilliant local artist and resident for her generosity and fabulous ideas and to Hazel for giving our crow guide his name, Feathers.

The staff and residents of Victory Care Home, a beautiful place full of fun and kindness, and a shining example of how wonderful, creative, inclusive, compassionate and fun a care home can be.

The teaching staff, auxiliary staff and pupils of Luton Primary School and Kingfisher Primary School. We had the best time in our workshops in the schools and were hugely inspired by the imaginative responses of all involved, and the hard work and kindness of all the teaching staff.

The staff at Chatham Railway station and the station Starbucks, all of whom were kind, funny and friendly (this sort of thing really makes a difference on a rainy day with train delays!)

The taxi drivers who lugged our huge cases bulging with art supplies and recording devices as they ferried us to and from the station, without complaint, and who supplied us with extra local knowledge on the route.

The local landscape, flora and fauna of Luton, and of Darland Banks, and all the crows, pigeons, songbirds, horses, cats, dogs, insects, trees, shrubs, plants, mosses, lichen and fungi who we met and were inspired by.

Jio and the team at The Printers, Chatham for such a quick turnaround for our maps and posters.

A final thanks to all the storytellers who stand in a long line behind us all, in this place and in all others, whose stories teach us that everywhere is full of surprises and wonders.

Love Bernadette, Emma, Melanie, Hannah and the White Rabbit team
